Job PurposePanthera is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Payable Specialist to join our finance team. The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for processing payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Duties and Responsibilities- Process accounts payable transactions accurately and efficiently, including verifying invoices, obtaining approvals, and entering data into the accounting system.
- Review and reconcile vendor statements to ensure all invoices are accounted for and discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
- Prepare and process electronic payments, checks, and wire transfers in accordance with payment terms and organizational policies.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date vendor files, including W-9 forms, contracts, and correspondence.
- Assist with month-end close processes, including accruals, account reconciliations, and expense analysis.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment-related issues in a professional and timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure timely submission of invoices and proper coding of expenses.
Qualifications and Skill Set - 5+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting role.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles and practices is a plus.
- Experience working with international vendors or in a multi-currency environment is desirable.
