Job Description
As the Vice President of Project Development, you will lead and direct all aspects of our renewable energy project development activities. You will manage the Development team to oversee interconnection applications, permitting, engineering, procurement, and see projects through NTP or COD. Your strategic oversight will ensure successful outcomes, driving alignment with company objectives and fostering innovation in renewable energy development.
Responsibilities:

Lead and direct all aspects of project development activities, including interconnection applications, permitting and approvals, project communications, engineering and design, procurement, and construction review processes.

Collaborate with internal departments and external consultants to drive projects forward and ensure successful outcomes, while maintaining alignment with company goals and objectives.

Develop comprehensive project scopes and execution plans, overseeing contract deliverables, health, safety, environmental requirements, insurance needs, and quality assurance/quality control plans.

Provide leadership and guidance in PV/BESS technology selection, procurement initiatives, and project dependencies to ensure targeted development and construction outcomes.

Lead public consultation and stakeholder engagement efforts with local communities, landowners, leaders, and regulatory bodies, fostering positive relationships and addressing concerns.

Drive continuous improvement of development principles and processes, identifying opportunities to enhance project execution and operational efficiencies.

Deliver development projects on time and on budget while coordinating and guiding the broader development team in achieving project objectives

Track project risk throughout the development cycle; provide risk assessments and mitigations to Executive team

Problem solve in numerous areas throughout a project lifecycle, such as interconnection agreements, land use permits, title issues, etc.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Planning, Environmental Science, or related field; advanced degree preferred.

A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in project development and management within renewable power generation, energy storage, or related industries.

Proven expertise in siting and land acquisition strategies, including negotiation of commercial contracts and securing necessary permits and approvals.

In-depth understanding of Federal, State, and local regulatory processes and experience navigating utility interconnection requirements.

Strong leadership and project management skills with a track record of success in delivering complex projects on time and within budget.

Extensive knowledge of renewable energy technologies and energy storage systems.

Established network and relationships within the US solar and storage market preferred.

Proficiency in MS Office suite, project management software, GIS/mapping systems, and document management systems.
