We are looking for an experienced VP Operations/ Plant Director to join us in our mission to contribute to a greener future. The role is a part of our excellent Battery Systems team based in Gdansk. By joining us, you will be a key player in establishing Northvolt Battery System operations.
About the job
You will be responsible for leading all manufacturing operations of Northvolt Systems business unit, including “Dwa ESS” and “Dwa INDUSTRIAL” manufacturing sites in Gdansk/Poland. Primary location is Northvolt Dwa in Gdansk, Poland. The role covers responsibility for high volume manufacturing of battery systems and energy storage solutions within the following areas: components and services purchasing, inbound and outbound operations, warehouse and logistic, production, process equipment maintenance, manufacturing quality assurance, excellence and continuous improvement, plant(s) maintenance and plant(s) safety.
As VP Operations/ Plant Director you will support and join Northvolt Systems Poland and Northvolt Systems management teams in reaching long and short-term business objectives on delivering ordered goods volumes on time, in cost, with quality and safety, reaching target OEE and cost of scrap. You will closely collaborate with the entire Northvolt Systems organization to execute operational excellence.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Build and sustain a world class manufacturing team,
- Develop and Sustain safety culture across all manufacturing sites,
- Ensure that EHS internal and external regulations are met,
- Ensure the right manufacturing strategy and processes to meet business unit objectives,
- Target OEE, reduced cost of production scrap, inventory turnover (ITO) and working capital (WC) shall be the main operational indicators for performance,
- Lead effective sites teams in the areas of:
- operational supply chain, including BOM procurement,
- operations planning (part of S&OP),
- inventory on hand optimization (ITO),
- inbound and outbound operations,
- warehouses management,
- internal logistic,
- production,
- process equipment maintenance,
- facility maintenance & safety,
- manufacturing quality assurance,
- Excellence and continuous improvements,
- Recognize and cultivate rising talents,
- Perform other tasks assigned by Manager
- Closely cooperate with other Northvolt’s organizations as well as with company’s customers and suppliers and other stakeholders,
- Build and develop a strong, stable, competent, and dedicated staff,
