Job Description

BCS has an immediate opening for a Lead Inspector to join our growing team supporting the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). This is a hybrid role that is located in Puerto Rico.

An ideal candidate should have excellent analytical and interpersonal skills, with the ability to multi-task and adapt in a fast-paced environment. To excel in this role, the Lead Inspector will coordinate responsibilities among agency partners while adhering to high standards and meeting customer expectations.

Responsibilities:

This person will be working with a variety of different internal and external stakeholders where they will work within the Department of Energy. Most of your job responsibilities will entail:

  • Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results and provide reports as required
  • Review plans prior to traveling onsite and document the tasks needed addressed 
  • Oversee the electrical work and startup to ensure compliance, quality, and safety
  • Interfaces with project's designated safety, engineering, and quality control parties
  • Oversees solar field commissioning activities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Work independently and as part of a team
  • Meet with local municipalities regarding permits, inspections, etc.
Job Requirements
  • US Citizen
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred, but can substitute other trainings or certifications in its place
  • +8 years of relevant work experience
  • Electrical engineers or licensed master electricians are preferred
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, a reliable vehicle, and maintain a clean driving record
  • Experience working with a federal government agency and/or knowledge of solar energy
  • Standard schedule of Monday-Friday or work a flexible schedule depending on weather availability
  • Strong writing and presentation development skills required; including the ability to convey technical and complex information to a general audience.
  • Strong project management and time management skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
