AHUK offers considerable experience in helicopter sales, bespoke completions, maintenance and spares support. Its in-house engineering capabilities include design, customisation, installation, flight-testing and certification, as well as technical support, maintenance, training and the supply of spares for civil and military applications.
AHUK is the MoD’s chosen provider of helicopters and maintenance for its No. 1 Flying Training School (referred to as MFTS) located in RAF Shawbury (Shropshire) and RAF Valley (Anglesey).
Description/Overall purpose of the Job
AHUK Design and Customer Centre provides completions and retrofits for all Airbus Helicopters Products.
Working within this Organisation, the successful applicant will be responsible for the execution of Safety Management Process (SMP) across all UK managed Products to ensure continued safety throughout the product life cycle.
The role requires someone who is a good communicator and organiser of all tasks, people and priorities and can build successful professional relationships with DO customers and suppliers.
Main responsibilities
Primary DO interface for management of Air Systems Safety Management plan.
Control, maintain and manage the Air System(s) SM plan on behalf of the Head of Design.
Maintaining Air System safety documentation.
Monitoring reported occurrences, coordinating review and recommended corrective/mitigating action.
Performing/facilitating hazard identification and safety risk assessments.
Ensuring corrective/mitigating actions conducted in a timely manner relative to the risk.
Monitoring corrective actions and evaluating their effectiveness.
Providing independent advice on Air System safety matters.
Monitoring safety concerns in the aviation industry and their perceived impact on the organization’s operations aimed at service delivery.
Knowledge and Skills
MAA DAOS and CFAOS process and practices.
Certification requirements (FAR/CS29, DSTAN 00-970).
Good Knowledge of aircraft design, test and manufacturing processes.
Aeronautical engineering competencies, including; safety assessments, operational risk management and equipment hazard logs.
Use of supporting tools such as Adelard ASSC and E-Cassandra.
Confident customer relations.
Good networking skills building and developing relationships.
Negotiating and Influencing.
Presentation skills - structured and logical.
Diligent and systematic approach.
High level of IT literacy especially for role related tools.
Education, Qualifications or Training
Aeronautical or equivalent Degree
Equivalent experience with another professional qualification may be considered.
Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent training.
