ESA has an excellent opportunity for a senior-level Aviation Environmental Consultant/Strategic Advisor to support a variety of projects related to aviation environmental planning, noise and land use planning, and sustainability. This is a part-time variable position with a minimum of 20 hours per week of work.

Who You Are
- You have over 25 years of experience in the aviation industry and a strong desire to use your knowledge and experience in a variety of aspects/disciplines related to the aviation industry.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree with major course work in aviation planning/management, environmental, geography, or physical/natural sciences, land use management, or a related field.
- You know of:
- 14 CFR Part 150 and 161 Regulations
- Implementation of Noise Compatibility Program Measures
- Noise and Operations Monitoring Systems (NOMS)
- California Department of Transportation Noise Standards
- Residential Sound Insulation Programs
- FAA Grant Processes
- You have been or are currently actively involved in environmental industry committees and/or working groups.
- Highly proficient with MS Office applications.
- You have experience giving presentations.
- You have strong organization and technical writing skills.
- You have a strong network of aviation industry contacts and relationships and have served in industry leadership roles.
- You have fostered positive relationships with the FAA, communities, airlines, and other stakeholders.
- You have experience at both complex commercial service and general aviation airports.
- You are an independent, self-directed problem solver.
- You have experience working under tight deadlines and responding to the immediate needs of clients and an interest in fostering/growing client relationships.
- You have experience managing complex tasks or projects, including tracking project schedules and deliverables.
- You can work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- You must pass a background check.
What You Will Do for ESA
- Provide strategic guidance and support and manage our airport client(s) day-to-day project needs.
- Work within a close-knit team of planners, scientists, and other technical specialists including subconsultants while contributing to a wide array of challenging and exciting aviation projects.
- Assist in the preparation of aviation planning documents, environmental analyses and technical reports, permit applications, and other project documentation.
- Consistently demonstrate solid communication and attentive listening skills and participate in or lead meetings with ESA staff and our airport clients.
- Participate in industry conferences, committees, and working groups.
- Leverage industry relationships to create new work opportunities.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, challenging environment and be able to balance multiple responsibilities and deadlines, while working on a team or independently.
- May work on non-aviation environmental projects, as needed.
ESA has established multiple pay ranges tailored to the economic factors in the geographies in which ESA staff reside. The salary range for this position is $153,664-$230,497. Actual compensation is determined by several factors including but not limited to an individual’s related experience, education, skills, and the city in which the applicant lives.
