AECOM is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona supporting ongoing projects throughout the US West Region of North America. This position involves environmental planning and project development activities for transportation and other infrastructure projects under supervision of more senior staff. Expected assignments will include, but not be limited to, supporting environmental technical and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) studies for public and private transportation, and other infrastructure clients across the United States.
This position is expected to begin in March 2024.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting research, data reviews, and analysis to determine potential environmental effects.
- Preparing text, maps, and graphics for National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents and permits.
- Interprets and compares findings of relevant studies for compliance with local, state, and federal requirements, standard procedures, and client expectations.
- Collects a variety of technical and statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, and the natural environment.
- Utilizes Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to analyze data and prepare detailed maps for use in reports.
- Supports planning studies and reports.
- Supports agency stakeholder and public engagement efforts.
- Assists with other duties assigned by senior staff and/or Project Managers.
- Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position.
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
- Offered rate of compensation (Arizona locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The hourly range for this position is $20.00-25.00/hr.
