We’re looking for a Sustainability Intern to support Salesforce’s carbon footprinting and decarbonization strategies across the organization, helping the company achieve the ambitious 1.5°C-aligned goal of 50% emissions reduction by 2030. This position will report to the Senior Director of Emissions Reduction and work closely with the entire Impact team and cross-functional business partners.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Greenhouse Gas Accounting and Reporting
- Contribute to the annual greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting (measuring scope 1,2,& 3 emissions)and reporting process
- Support maintenance and use of Salesforce's Net Zero Cloud instance
- Contribute to process improvements related to data collection, forecasting, and decarbonization
- Review and work with key stakeholders to update our GHG Inventory Management Plan
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) frameworks and reporting standards
- Currently enrolled in a masters or MBA program with a focus on Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or related field
- Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of corporate ESG issues
- Experience with Greenhouse Gas quantification and accounting utilizing the Greenhouse Gas Protocol across scopes 1, 2, and 3
- Experience with quantitative analysis, including exposure to larger unstructured data sets
- Experience with emissions forecasting
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience maintaining complex data models and data management systems
- Tech savvy and comfortable working with and using new software tools
- Excellent organizational skills
- Project management experience
- Keen attention to detail and data accuracy
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
