TV / MOVIE PRODUCTION SUSTAINABILITY MANAGER - LEVEL 1
About the Role
The Production Sustainability Manager is responsible for leading and managing Reel's sustainability efforts across multiple productions. This includes developing and implementing sustainability policies and procedures, tracking carbon emissions, and working with production teams and Sustainability Coordinators to reduce production’s environmental impact.
Tasks of the role:
Manage the sustainable production program and environmental efforts for multiple productions.
Develop and implement sustainability policies and procedures.
Lead kick-off calls with the production team, accounting, and key department heads.
Communicate effectively with various department heads, producers, crew, and studio personnel.
Serve as a resource for production executives on environmental policies and procedures.
Create and implement a training program with corresponding manual for a team of sustainability coordinators.
Develop and update sustainability materials.
Research and develop new sustainability programs and technology.
Communicate sustainability efforts internally and externally.
Work with the corporate sustainability team to ensure productions are meeting reduction goals.
Assist sustainability coordinator with "green" decisions, such as waste vendor, green materials, and crew training.
Network with external studios to identify best practices.
Develop and execute implementation plans for support of renewable energy projects for individual productions.
Track the progress of the program and benchmark - identifying and documenting sustainability "wins" from productions.
Create and distribute environmental impact reports.
Requirements
Proficient in project planning, management, and execution.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong understanding of environmental regulations and best practices.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Highly motivated and results-oriented.
Strong analytical, business process improvement, and problem-solving skills.
Technology savvy and able to quickly adapt to new technology-based tools and reporting systems.
Ability to build and manage relationships and teams across functions.
Education & Experience
Minimum 4+ years of experience in environmental sustainability, with at least 2+ years in the film and production industry.
Deep understanding of environmental issues.
Experience managing relationships, setting expectations, and engaging with production executives, producers, directors, production crew, and vendors.
Creative thinker, able to seek innovative solutions to complex business problems.
Experience with carbon calculation and data analysis.
Proficiency in Google Docs. Ability to learn new software and technologies.
Experience developing ESG metrics, performing materiality analysis, benchmarking for the Entertainment sector, and GHG accounting.
Proven ability to lead corporate reporting in line with ESG standards and frameworks such as CDP, SASB, TCFD, and GRI.
Knowledge of renewable energy technology and other fuel sources. Ability to interpret technical specifications.
Experience with stakeholder engagement and serving as a liaison between internal and external partners.
Job Type: Full-time, Part-Time, Contract, Variable Hours
Salary Range: $21.43 to $25.00 Hourly (Depending on Experience)
