Job Description
Reputation Risk Management is responsible for developing and executing the organization's reputation risk management framework, including the development, oversight and management of the enterprise Environmental and Social Risk Policy (ESRP).
A successful candidate will have the ability to objectively assess and document reputation risks stemming from the Bank’s relationships, including customers, third parties, and investments. The role must consider a multitude of factors such as external events and trends and using knowledge of various risk disciplines such as credit or financial crimes, as well as the consideration of environmental and social risk factors when evaluating the reputation risk. The highly complex role requires a unique ability to assess reputation risk at an individual relationship level as well as an enterprise level.
The role will drive the evolution of the ESRP program to enhance the monitoring and oversight of Bank relationships. The role will be responsible for designing and building reporting related to the ESRP program, including reporting to capture the status of heightened risk relationships in order to evaluate risks related to the portfolio. The role will also partner with key internal stakeholders to develop methods to proactively identify and assess banking relationships that present reputation risk. The candidate will also evaluate and drive policy content based on a combination of internal and external factors, such as industry and regulatory dynamics.
Key responsibilities include the completion of risk oversight function such as:
• Responding and advising to customer/sponsor escalations
• Building a portfolio view of customers and bank relationships that meet ESRP criteria
• Building proactive review processes of relationships that may pose reputation risk to the Bank
• Creation and oversight of Policy, process and procedures associated with the ESRP
• Coordinating and authoring ESRP-related reputation risk materials for the Corporate Responsibility and Reputation Committee, quarterly management letters, and monthly Reputation Risk Working Group
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Typically more than 10 years of applicable experience
Preferred Skills/Experience
- Strong prior experience evaluating reputation risk associated with customer, third party or other relationships
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
- Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people
- Current or prior leadership roles in one or more risk disciplines
- Strong understanding of U.S. Bank business models, risk management programs and organizational structure
- Strong knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to credibly challenge senior and executive level managers
The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location, which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the role. In addition to salary, US Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package, including incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase 401k contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
