Arch Solar is seeking an experienced, hard-working Solar Energy System Designer to join our team!
This position will ensure that the design team provides consistent,high-quality, cost-effective, and timely engineering for our customers. Basicrequirements include essentials of Solar Energy System design, One Line Diagramdesign, Electrical engineering essentials, and knowledge of electricalcode. The Solar Designer will be able toprovide designs and engineering for any configuration of solar that the residentialsolar team could require. The Solar Energy System Designer will also helpsupport the operation teams by overseeing, guiding, and managing the work ofcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and employees. Duties to include:
- Create and maintain drawing packages and project documentation for residential-scale energy systems.
- Assist in all stages of project design including conceptual and advanced system design observing regulatory codes as well as customer requirements, balance of systems, siting, permitting, and technical support during the construction phase.
- Assist in the development and review of cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scope of work, standards, and quotes from suppliers.
- In collaboration with other team members, contribute to the completion of proposals to design.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvements in project designs, plans, processes, and product development.
- Collaborate with team members when necessary to ensure effective communication and results.
- Strong customer service, positive attitude and highly motivated.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
- Proven ability to work in a team environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- An advanced degree supporting the company’s solar design goals is preferred.
- NABCEP-Associate certification preferred.
- Working knowledge of NEC code; Permitting experience preferred
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and all other internal software relating to design deliverables.
- Ability to procure, receive, and accurately inventory all materials necessary.
- Project completion reviews
Full-time position. Office located in Plymouth, Milwaukee or Madison, WI.
Salary: Commensurate with experience/abilities
