We are a company that is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety and well-being for our employees. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to join our team as an Environmental Health and Safety Manager.
Responsibilities of the EHS Manager
- Safety Compliance-Ensure compliance with relevant occupational health and safety regulations, standards and guidelines set forth by local, state and federal authorities.
- Risk Assessment-Conduct regular workplace risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks effectively.
- Training and Education-Assist in the development and implementation of safety training programs for employees, including orientation sessions for new hires and ongoing training sessions for existing staff.
- Incident Investigation-Investigate workplace incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Safety Policies and Procedures-Assist in the development, review and revision of safety policies, procedures, and protocols to ensure they are up to date and effectively communicate to all employees.
- Safety Inspections-Conduct routine safety inspections and audits in the workplace, equipment, and processes to identify potential safety hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Emergency Preparedness-Develop and maintain emergency response plans and procedures to address various workplace emergencies.
- Safety Culture Promotion-Promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization by fostering employee engagement, participation, injury and accountability in safety initiatives and activities.
- Record Keeping and Documentation-Maintain accurate and up to date records related to occupational health and safety, including incident reports, and worker's compensation documentation, training records, inspection findings, and corrective actions.
- Collaboration-Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including human resources, operations, and facilities management, to integrate safety considerations into all aspects of the organization's operations.
The right individual will have the following qualifications:
- 1-2 years prior safety management experience or a bachelor's degree in environmental health and safety.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and guidelines.
- Prior experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Heavy equipment experience is a plus.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation and phone communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and employees and speak effectively in front of groups and conduct effective training
- Ability to positively influence others and drive initiatives
- Must be able to prioritize and self-manage tasks and change direction as priorities change.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Office software applications with advanced skills in Word and PowerPoint.
- Ability to recognize safety improvement opportunities and gaps and clearly identify and articulate options and tools available to help drive desired behavior.
Compensation $55,000 to $65,000
