This position is based in Denver or Boulder - must be a resident of Colorado to be considered for the position.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Service Installation Manager (IM) is responsible for managing our Residential Service and Field Tech Teams in both Boulder and Denver. This role oversees between 10-15 field employees with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency to support Namaste Solar's mission. The Service Install Manager will support field personnel through staffing and resourcing decisions and outfitting crews to provide exemplary service, operations and maintenance, installation, and commissioning services for our Residential PV and Storage customers. In collaboration with warehouse and fleet teams, the Service Installation Manager is responsible for maintaining proper tools and equipment for field personnel. The Service Installation Manager will oversee quality control for project commissioning and documentation, including follow-up and feedback with relevant stakeholders. They will track and respond to quality issues for all field installations and service work and provide lessons learned, best practices, and inspector feedback to install crews and field/service techs. This role works collaboratively with the Residential Install Manager, Residential Operations Manager, and Warehouse Manager on project preparation, scheduling, and staging to ensure maximum field productivity and quality, installer trainings, SOP development and implementation, and team culture. This role reports to the Director of Residential Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all inspections and corrections are completed accurately and consistently in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform and oversee field work to ensure high standards of workmanship, perform tasks alongside team members, fill in for resource absences, and train field personnel on the job.
- Deliver toolbox talks, support safety team with safety policy, and job site reviews.
- Drive team metrics including productivity, utilization, inspection pass/fail rates, labor costs, service tickets, time on task, equipment failures, and workmanship warranty issues.
- Cultivate awareness of department policies among field staff and ensure healthy and timely feedback mechanisms between field and office personnel.
- Balance documentation requirements and workflow processes to ensure high quality and positive customer experiences with team profitability and productivity.
- Drive field personnel decisions, wage placement, and performance reviews.
- Support professional development, certifications, and leadership training
- Drive improvement projects that advance field efficiency and resolution support, including Service and Field Tech SOP development and implementation
- Coordinate resource allocations for PTO, sick leave, light duty, etc. that balances priorities between competing work tasks.
- Maintain and uphold department policies regarding timecoding, coaching cards, and PTO
- Ability to travel (along the front-range of Colorado) 50-75% of the week, traveling to job sites
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Requires RW license or higher
- Proven leadership ability and prior supervisory experience
- Expert Residential PV knowledge, including energy storage and data acquisition systems.
- Thorough understanding of NEC code and residential building standards
- General construction understanding, i.e., ability to read, and understand electrical and structural plans, reading/interpreting blueprints, and field layouts.
- Understanding of jurisdictional requirements for PV system design, permitting, and installation
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce (or other CRM), and Site Capture
- Ability to foster positive team environment through team building, collaborative decision making, communication, and crew level training
- Maintain a clean driving record that meets our insurance carriers' requirements
- NABCEP certified PV Installation Professional
- Forklift operator certification
- Aerial and Scissor Lift operator certification
COMPENSATION and BENEFITS:
- Starting Salary: $32.75-$35.00 per hour
- PTO increases annually from the date of hire, 48 hours of flexible sick time and 64 hours of paid Holiday time
