What we’re looking for:
Nexamp is looking to hire a Regional Construction Manager. As a Regional Construction Manager, you have vast experience and knowledge in all aspects of solar construction and an expert-level understanding of workflow and contractor management. You will be responsible for developing strong relationships and maintaining open lines of communication between business units to achieve milestones. You will stay informed on innovation to maintain best practices and efficiency in the construction of DG scale and BESS systems. The right individual will manage a high-level team, focus on quality, and consistently hit deadlines. You will collaborate with other business units, Regional Construction Managers, Commissioning, and Program Managers within the organization. Follow-up and communication are keystones of a successful Regional Construction Manager. You have a keen eye for detail on technical aspects, team development, the ability to support emerging markets within Nexamp’s growing network, and support and track outage resolution tickets and operational KPIs.
This role is based out of our Chicago HQ office and will report to the Director, Construction. Please note, candidates must be based in Illinois or St. Louis.
What you’ll do:
- Develop operational policies and procedures for maximizing safety, performance, and profitability for DG scale solar & BESS projects. Provide policy and procedure updates to construction teams.
- Lead problem-solving and continuous improvement efforts. Develop best practices and standard tools to continuously improve operational efficiency.
- Monitor key metrics and develop operational strategies for profitability.
- Develop a project matrix with the Project Management team. Develop a workforce plan for each project to include the general labor needs, supervisors, site management, and equipment necessary for each project, as well as key employees and training needs. Manage contracts for subcontract Construction Supervisors.
- Forecast staffing of field personnel.
- Manage and develop training strategies. Develop team members in their career paths.
- Manage and coordinate materials to ensure ongoing operations are equipped and staffed.
- Establish, communicate, and evaluate progress toward field goals and benchmarks.
- Resolve all issues and concerns relating to field office operations.
- Streamline all field office operational, functional, and administrative systems and ensure they comply with local laws and regulations.Monitor and manage field office expenses with the assigned budget.
- Participate in root cause analysis investigations and drive closure of accompanying action items.
- Promote and communicate the company's quality policies and procedures.
- Schedule and coordinate Geo-Tech and Push Pull Testing with the Design Team, pre-construction site walks with the Pre-Construction Team, and construction and site utility walks.
- Collaborate with EH&S to start up and maintain a safe site and healthy SWPPP.
- Monitor weekly project progress meetings. Develop meeting schedules to track milestones at a high level.
- Develop, maintain, and review quality inspections.Approve and sign off on Quality milestones.
- Oversee and be responsible for the QA/QC function for all construction projects.
- 10+ years of construction or project management experience.
- 5+ years of experience in the solar industry.
- Valid driver’s license.
- OSHA 10 certification.

- Demonstrated experience in effectively communicating information, ideas, and perspectives with people inside and beyond your organization.

- Ability to ask appropriate questions, analyze data, identify the root causes of problems, and present creative solutions.
- Expertise in building strong internal and external relationships with customers and stakeholders, instilling trust and loyalty across the industry.
- Eagerness to develop a fundamental understanding of how Nexamp operates and then apply that knowledge effectively to inform business decisions.
