Schneider Electric Power System Engineering (PSE) is seeking qualified Power System Engineers. The Power System Engineer is responsible for leading and executing power system engineering work in their area.
What do you get in this position?
In the Power System Engineer role, you will become proficient in our offerings. This includes power system studies, electrical distribution design, digital relay protection and control, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming and commissioning, equipment assessments and power quality audits. You will work in a variety of industries including data centers, microgrids, heavy industry (oil and gas, pulp and paper, steel), large buildings, transportation and government. You will have the opportunity to continuously expand your skills and increase your knowledge so that the solutions we offer are technically sound and meet national regulatory standards.
Power System Engineers are responsible for working with project management to ensure that the work executed in their area, either by the Power System Engineer or by others, satisfies specifications and customer needs and is completed within the project timeline and budget. Projects are typically a mixture of office-based design or system study activities coupled with onsite data collection, commissioning, and installation. Some projects may require travel and onsite work to be performed outside of regular working hours.
As a Power System Engineer you will develop relationships with key customers and work to become the trusted advisor for them in order to facilitate an effective partnership and drive incremental business.
Typical Responsibilities:
- You will execute projects or lead project execution
- You will develop your own technical and commercial proficiency of our power system engineering offers
- You will develop proposals (quotations)
- You will develop and maintain the relationship with key customers
Estimated travel: 30% on average
This role may be for you if you have a minimum of:
- BS in engineering
- 4+ years of experience
- Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
- The ability to quickly establish trust of clients in a consulting role
- Proficiency in MS Office applications and Autocad
- Expertise in at least one of the following areas:
- Electrical power system studies
- Electrical power distribution design
- Switchgear Automation and PLC application
- Digital protective relay programming and commissioning
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering registration
