Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a Microgrid Systems Test Engineer based in Andover, MA.
The electric world is evolving from a centralized model to a decentralized model with microgrids. Schneider Electric is a leader in this market with the Ecostruxure framework and technology. The Microgrid Line of Business is developing microgrid control solutions including EMS (Energy Management System), PMS (Power Management System), Microgrid architectures and Energy Control Centers. EMS (Ecostruxure Microgrid Advisor-EMA) is a cloud-based service offer that optimizes energy profile. The service is delivered automatically using artificial intelligence. Nevertheless, it requires professional services for its implementation. PMS solution (Ecostruxure Microgrid Operation-EMO) is an edge solution made of automation algorithms hosted within a PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) or an IPC (industrial computer).
What will you do?
Based in Andover, as part of the global Microgrid LoB Center of Expertise dedicated to ANSI zone, the role of Microgrid system test engineer includes:
- To test and validate end user scenarios of the SE CTO Microgrid Solution. Work with the Global R&D team to solve solution issues to provide quality and ensure customer satisfaction
- Develop and execute detailed test plans for qualifying end user scenarios
- Automate test plans using a state-of-the-art Microgrid lab to ensure fast and effective regression testing of new and existing features
- To train and support Schneider Electric partners to deliver CTO (Configure-To-Order) microgrid solutions through pilots & other business opportunities
What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
- Familiarity with scripting languages and object-oriented code development for designing and developing test automation script: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python is a plus, National Instruments and LabVIEW experience is a plus
- Solid mathematical and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on experience in Industrial Automation Controls (e.g. PLC’s)
- Experience with troubleshooting and root cause analysis, hands on experience with digital troubleshooting tools (e.g. Modbus Poll) is a plus
- Familiarity with Microgrids and Microgrid concepts and technologies (e.g. Battery Energy Storage Systems, Solar PV, Generators, Grid-forming vs Grid-following, open transition vs closed transition, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience working well within teams
- Familiarity with Agile Process is a plus
- Willingness to travel nationally/internationally occasionally is a plus

- The selected candidate will report directly to the Microgrid Flex Technical Product Owner
The Microgrid system test engineer will be interacting on daily basis with the following teams:

- Execution teams
- Tendering teams
