Fire Alarm Project Engineer
Primary responsibility is delivering Fire Alarm projects. This position will begin by leading a large Fire Alarm replacement project in Charlotte, NC. **Working hours will be between 6pm and 5am four days a week. This will be a year long project. After completion, the position will transition into normal working hours Monday thru Friday.
The successful candidate will be a high performing operations professional. The primary focus of this role is being the lead technical resource in delivering projects. This position requires a continuing commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
This is a field-based position where you may perform any number of roles. The successful candidate will work closely with project managers in delivery of any of the following project components…system design/review, software, installation, startup, commissioning, and owner training.
The Fire Alarm Project Engineer will report directly to the Construction Manager and will be an active participant in the development and implementation of Operations Excellence.

- Assist project managers in project delivery…finances, schedules, and contractual obligations.
- Utilize a cross matrix team of professionals.
- Change order pricing help for out-of-scope items and recommended improvements
- Forecasting assistance for project labor needs
- Coordination of work with our internal team, subcontractors, and other trades
- Ownership of project updates to project managers
- Attending job meetings as required as directed by the project managers.
Qualifications:
- Certifications and/or Programming experience with: EST-3, EST-4, or equal Fire Alarm System
- NICET II or above certification
- Experience with AutoCAD, Fire Alarm Design, and Programming is a plus.
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, submittals, and operational/product manuals
- Experience with hand tools, test equipment and a digital multi-meter for the use of troubleshooting ground faults, short faults, and open circuits.
- Able to climb ladders and work at moderate heights.
- Must be capable of lifting equipment up to 75 lbs. for a distance.
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends to meet customer project requirements.
- Overnight travel may be required.

Requirements:
- High school diploma, certificate from college or technical school.
- 5+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
- Candidate must pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
