We are looking to add an exceptionally talented Sr. System Engineer with System Engineering experience to our growing team. The Sr. System Engineer will work with a team of engineers to design, develop and implement new digital solutions utilizing agile methodologies.
The Sr. System Engineer will be responsible for:
- Facilitating the system team to design, develop, and implement new digital system offers
- Analyzing the customer inputs to create use cases of complex systems
- Documenting and supporting Offer Marketing to create system level requirements.
- Coordinating with system architects to interpret the system architecture
- Maintaining the System Documentation to keep it consistent throughout the system development and release
- Work with cross functional teams to ensure the system design is understood and flowed down for end-to-end consistency.
- Presenting the status and activity outputs to project stakeholders
Main Responsibilities:
- Responsible for driving the system team following agile principles through the required engineering deliverables
- Responsible for clarification and analysis of the needs, expectations and requirements from Marketing and other internal stakeholders for the project
- Create use cases based on user requirements
- Transform the User, Industrial, Security, Safety & Regulatory Requirements into System Requirements
- Collaborate with the Systems Engineering discipline within Schneider Electric to further refine and extend the standard framework for developing systems
- Provide status updates of the System Engineering activities at various design reviews
In addition, you will be part of the largest corporation in the world dedicated to the safe distribution and control of electrical energy. As such Schneider Electric is a global company headquartered in Paris with power protection product design centers in Grenoble, France, Shanghai, China, and Cedar Rapids Iowa. Much cross collaboration occurs with these design centers.
Where:
This position is in the Raleigh Hub. It may require approximately 10% travel to affiliate sites, suppliers, and customers.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years experience performing system engineering
- Experience collaborating on a systems team developing complex systems involving hardware, embedded software,electromechanics and software components
- Experience writing use cases
- Experience writing specifications
- Experience defining/collaborating on system architecture decisions
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent collaboration and facilitation skills
- Strong communication skills working across multi discipline groups and complex organizations.
- Bachelor’s degree - preferably in software, systems, computer science or electrical engineering
Preferred Skills
- 10+ years performing systems engineering
- Experience in Energy Management and/or Electrical Distribution
- Experience working with Jama, Jira or other systems platforms.
- Experience with Cybersecurity threat modeling and mitigation planning
