This is the role

In the role of I&D Sustainability Development Manager Europe, you really get to know our I&D customers and help them achieve their climate goals through our LYB value propositions. With the knowledge we already have in-house, you will support customers in shaping the I&D scope 3 sustainability strategies and you will further develop our LYB value propositions in this. This gives you the opportunity to develop a broader perspective and skills such as leadership, problem solving, cultural awareness and decision making.

You lead the effort to collect accurate end-user application data for the region's I&D products and their potential impact on the I&D business. You advise the business and involve them in shaping the strategy. In addition, you take the lead in working with Marketing Communications and other stakeholders to develop content for coordinated internal/external reporting and communication; including broad industry, OEM and customer communications.

You represent I&D in various internal and external stakeholder groups regarding scope 3 emission reductions. You develop, lead and coordinate the I&D processes necessary to advance the I&D sustainability strategy, such as low carbon raw material procurement, ISCC certification processes. You will further develop and set sustainability KPIs (in line with industry protocols) to coordinate, track and report progress towards the I&D sustainability goals and objectives across the three I&D regions with a sense of urgency. You translate customer feedback into strategies and action plans for the end-use segments in collaboration with the Sales Business Development Manager, the C+CLS and the Sustainability organization.

This is a new area for LyondellBasell, so you will have to develop and invent yourself. A lot has to be set up and done. You hook up sales, attend meetings with customers, think along with them, make action plans and involve them in our sustainability strategies. Within LyondellBasell you help build a strong network of involved specialists.

To be successful in the role of I&D Sustainability Development Manager Europe you need very strong commercial and communication skills. You can effortlessly put yourself in the shoes of others, listen carefully and understand how our end users view problems and challenges. As the self-starter that you are, you soon take the lead when it comes to strategic collaborations and developments and you get the sales teams on board.

This is what you bring

• Minimum HBO working and thinking level;
• 8 to 10 years of experience in the petrochemical industry, preferably in roles such as BDA, POS planning, technical, commercial and manufacturing;
• Knowledge of the I&D products and how they are made is a nice plus;
• Read, interpret documents, effectively write routine correspondence, speak fluently with internal and external clients. All in English of course;
• An outspoken personality with a great sense of responsibility, who has the ability to work with cross-functional teams with a focus on project execution.
