DESCRIPTION
Generally assigned to MDTA, the inspector will monitor and inspect construction methods and workmanship to ensure quality and environmental compliance in accordance with plans and specifications. The inspector will document findings including, but not limited to, contractor construction materials, quantities, personnel, site conditions, safety, etc. with an emphasis on environmental compliance.
As a client representative, you will be expected to:
- Report to work at the project to which he/she has been assigned.
- Perform site inspections and report to the project engineer responsible for field inspection staff.
- Monitor compliance with environmental requirements.
- Monitor work on construction projects including quality, schedule, costs, and safety for compliance with the contract requirements and document all findings, observations, and issues.
- Utilize eConstruction tools including iPads and client documentation software.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS
- HS Diploma or GED
- 0-5 years experience in construction inspection for highway and/or bridge including related work items
- Experience in MDE/SHA environmental compliance
- Computer skills: MS Office
- Mid-Atlantic Region Technician Certification Program (MARTCP) certifications preferred (i.e.soils/agg, HMA, concrete) preferred
- MD erosion and sediment control certifications
- Maintenance of Traffic certifications preferred
- Demonstrated experience and certifications related to SHA, MDTA, MPA, MAA, MTA
- Valid Driver’s License and ability to travel to, from and at job site(s)
COMPENSATION
The approximate compensation range for this position is $21.53/hr. to $33.45/hr. This compensation range is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation is dependent upon factors such as education, qualifications, experience, skillset, and physical work location.
