You will actively contribute to ensuring compliance with sustainability legislation within our Global Sustainability Compliance Team. Focusing on transforming our processes, tools, and organization, you will play a key role in delivering efficient sustainability compliance. This involves supporting the development of automated compliance management tools, optimizing external detection services, and helping createan end-to-end view of the implementation status for sustainability requirements.
Additionally, you will collaborate with our team at HP to track, influence, and ensure compliance with legislative requirements, covering areas such as WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), batteries, packaging, eco design, waste shipment, materials, climate, supply chain responsibility, ESG, and the circular economy. Your efforts will help ensure that HP products are safe, legally compliant, responsibly manufactured, and exceed sustainability expectations for our customers.
This graduate role offers an exciting opportunity to develop sustainability knowledge, gain hands-on experience in managing compliance, and become an expert in key sustainability regulations and themes. You will be part of our Global Sustainability Compliance Team based at HP’s Barcelona office in Spain. English language skills are , and Spanish or French proficiency is desirable.
As part of this role, you will:
Support our sustainability compliance team to ensure HP products and services are compliant with sustainability regulations and legislation.
Help us deliver efficient and effective sustainability compliance through transformation of our compliance processes, tools, and organization.
Support the development of automated compliance detection and tracking tools, optimizing our external detection services, helping develop end to end tracking of compliance implementation.
Support data management and migration, tool maintenance and quality assurance, and vendor management.
Support the development and management of our compliance scorecard including the co-ordination of data collection.
Support the Compliance Operations Manager to ensure compliance and manage compliance improvement projects.
Support our team atHP to track, influence and ensure compliance with legislative requirements, including WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), batteries, packaging, eco design, waste shipment, materials, supply chain responsibility, ESG, climate and the circular economy.
You may also support the team by developing draft policy analysisand compliance instructionsthat will be used to keep internal teams aware of the new legislation and convey the key requirements to the relevant implementation teams.
By working closely with our team, you will develop your sustainability knowledge, your experience of managing sustainability compliance and your expertise of key sustainability regulations and themes.You will also develop your knowledge of WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment), batteries, packaging, eco design, waste shipment, materials, supply chain responsibility, ESG and the circular economy.
Requirements & essential skills
Passion for sustainability and drive to make a positive difference.
Bachelor's or Master's degree with a significant management, IT, sustainability, or environmental policy focus (egIT Management, Environmental Management, Environmental and Business, Geography, Environmental Policy, Environmental Lawor equivalent.)
English language skills (fluent).
Enthusiasm, ability, and willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
Ability to understand sustainability policy and compliance requirements and/or experience of data management, databases, or using Power BI.
Strong quality orientation. Rigor and attention to details.
Strong organizational and project management skills to keep track of tasks and ensure completion on time.
Robust problem-solving abilities with the capacity to navigate dynamic situations, prioritize tasks, and act calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
A curious mind and analytical approach to develop new ideas, proposals, and solutions.
Strong team-working skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.Good interpersonal skills to enable support for advocacy.
Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direct day-to-day supervision.
Work/internship experience in a business-related role.
Academic projects focused on operations improvements and the development of IT applications are a strong plus.
Interest in or understanding of the policy making process.
Interest or understanding of one or more of the following areas: WEEE, batteries, packaging, eco design policy, waste shipment, materials, ESG, climate and the circular economy.
Spanish or French language skills (conversational).
