Boeing Commercial Airlines (BCA) 737 is seeking Environmental Control Systems Design Engineers supporting the 737 program and commercial & military derivatives. These teams have a wide breadth of work statement that support the design and system architecture of the Environmental Control Systems.
Our team is currently hiring for a range of experience levels including; Associate and Experienced Level.
Position Overview:
Currently seeking design engineers who are eager to take on exciting and challenging work and enhance their design engineering skill set alongside these two high performing teams.
Our design teams are responsible for the system design & architecture, production support, fleet support, and development programs for the 737. This role provides the candidate with an excellent opportunity to contribute to the certification of the 737-10 aircraft and gain systems experience in Low/High Pressure Design & Installation, DLODS, and Cargo Fire through a wide variety of work.
Position Responsibilities:
- Support Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), 737 Environmental Control Systems (ECS) organization as a system owner to support our production system and customers who operate our products.
- Lead and support MAX development certification activities for the 737-10 program.
- Support the design and installation of exciting new product improvement and value creation initiatives for the 737 program for both the low pressure and high pressure teams.
- Work across the value stream with suppliers, design teams, the production teams, pilot community and service engineering to support our system.
- Engage in resolving in-service issues, production troubleshooting, and development program flight testing.
- Coordinate and lead technical reviews with other internal ECS teams, customers, suppliers and pilot community.
- Gain exposure and domain knowledge of the Air Distribution and EE Cooling systems, High Pressure pneumatic ducting design and installation, Low Pressure design and installation, Duct Leak Overheat Detection System (DLODS), and Cargo Fire Protection Systems.
- Mentor with our experienced senior engineers to understand the system architecture, analysis techniques and contribute to the success of the design teams and ECS community.
Work Authorization:
- This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Renton, WA location.
- This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required):
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an Engineering Field
- (2) or more years related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired):
- Bachelor's degree or higher in an Mechanical, Aerospace, or Systems Engineering related field.
- 2+ Years Environmental Control Systems or Systems Engineering design or analysis experience within BCA or BDS aircraft programs.
- 2+ Years experience with engineering release processes, modeling, and configuration management platforms.
- Experience supporting commercial aircraft production systems or fleet support.
- Experience working with suppliers, operators and external customers.
- Strong project management skills to independently execute a variety of projects to completion
Typical Education/Experience:
Associate (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Experienced (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range:
Associate (level 2): $68,000 – $120,000
Experienced (level 3): $84,000 – $150,000
