As Environmental Manager, you will provide sustainability and environmental leadership for a large infrastructure project. This role involves driving innovation, best practices in project delivery, and enhancing environmental awareness among colleagues and the supply chain. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with complex legislative and environmental requirements, as stipulated in our client's agreements along with all Environmental Minimum Requirements.
Accountabilities:
- Developing, maintaining, and ensuring compliance with Environmental Management Plans, including the identification and impact of significant environmental aspects.
- Ensuring adherence to project Environmental Minimum Requirements and supporting environmental management review processes.
- Leading site supervision to monitor environmental performance, conducting site inspections, and auditing construction and supply chain operations.
- Reviewing technical documents for completeness and legal conformance, and participating in training initiatives to spread best practices.
- Maintain relationships with the Client’s Environmental Representatives and any 3rd party regarding Environmental matters.

- Produce Monthly Project Environmental Performance metric-based reports, which monitors the following performance indicators, some of which are linked to our Environmental Objectives.
- Identify possible operational risks or opportunities and work with central HSQE Team to ensure an appropriate and effective response.
- Providing advice and assistance to project personnel in managing their environmental responsibilities, promoting continuous improvement, and reporting on environmental performance and KPIs.
Requirements:
- Strong communication skills in English, both oral and written, with the ability to adapt communication styles effectively.
- Computer literacy, with proficient use of MS Office applications.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in developing, implementing, and improving Environmental Management Systems compliant with ISO14001:2015.
- Expertise in UK environmental legislation and best practices, including a broad understanding of environmental aspects such as archaeology, air quality, noise, waste, and ecology.
- Experience in environmental assessment and design for large or complex infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated ability in implementing waste hierarchy, materials, energy, and carbon management.
- Skilled in investigative and analytical methodologies, with a robust approach to health and safety, sustainability, and equality, diversity, and inclusion.
- Degree or higher in an environmental discipline or related, with professional membership in an environmental body (e.g., MIEMA) and an appropriate CSCS card.
