About the Role:
The Sr. Environmental Health Specialist will support public health and well-being by conducting field work and environmental assessments for asbestos, lead, and mold and moisture service lines and assisting in project management. The Sr. Environmental Health Specialist will assist Project Managers in successful completion of industrial hygiene projects including conversing with potential and existing clients, proposal generation, project budget management, and generating final reports and remediation specifications to achieve financial and client objectives. Fieldwork responsibilities include conducting on-site surveys, inspections, overseeing abatement activities, and monitoring safety procedures and regulations related to industrial hygiene and environmental projects. Responsibilities:
- Conduct site inspections, surveys, and oversight activities for asbestos, lead, and mold and moisture projects
- Comprehend and apply regulatory requirements and safety guidelines for each project
- Collect field samples and send samples to laboratory to be processed
- Transcribe field data, update maps and drawings, prepare basic scientific calculations, and review technical reports for projects performed
- Be a liaison between the client and project teams and infuse a customer-centric approach to all interactions
- Assist in all aspects of project management including fielding calls from potential and existing clients, preparing proposals, developing project budgets, reviewing and monitoring project scope and specifications, preparing and reviewing reports, and assisting with invoicing.
Requirements:
- Must possess CA DOSH CSST or CAC certification.
- 3+ years of technical experience and industry knowledge as a field technician.
- Must be able to drive locally to client sites (within a 100 mile radius of Fresno)
- Must be able to work Monday through Fridays 7am-4pm, with flexibility to work a few weekends and evening shifts.
- Strong written and verbal communication for data entry and reporting
- Physical ability to stoop, kneel, climb, crawl, and access a variety of different areas and be able to lift equipment and instruments up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to foster and maintain effective and positive relationships with clients and team.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass annual physical medical examinations and respirator fit test exams required by OSHA.
- Must pass background check with a clean record.
