The annual compensation range for this role is:
$150,000.00 - $120,000.00
Job Summary
The EH&S Manager is responsible for all Safety, Health, Workmen’s Compensation and Environmental affairs.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and administer all safety plans, programs and initiatives Workers compensation claim management and reporting
- Manage environmental regulations, reporting, and hazardous waste management (HAZMAT)
- Conduct environmental measurements (air/vapor, light, noise…) Medical clinic management
- Maintains ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and OHSAS 18001 certifications
- Accident investigation and root cause analysis
- Prescribe, conduct and record all required Safety and Environmental training Material Safety Data Sheet management
- EH&S budget development and administration
- EH&S audits
- Safety equipment budget and administration
- Safety committee chair
- Establish, measure and achieve safety and environmental performance
- Maintain Federal, State and local regulatory compliance (OSHA, EPA, DOT, SCAQMD, SARA, and OCSAN)
- Prepare and submit all required environmental data and reports
- Maintains Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) policy
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans and procedures
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Environmental, Safety, Engineer, or similar fields of study.
- 5 years of professional EH&S experience within a manufacturing setting, preferably with prior experience working in unionized manufacturing operations. Which includes direct managerial experience of an EHS team and/or department.
- U.S. Person per ITAR regulations to comply with export compliance and site Special Security Agreement (SSA) requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong sense of accountability and ownership
- Strong problem-solving abilities with ability to create time-phased action plans, which drive improvement
- Prior experience working with chemicals
- Thorough understanding of OSHA and CALOSHA regulations and standards Prior experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
- Sound working knowledge of computer systems, applications and the competent use of standard software applications, such as Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products
- The ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization is
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written
- Must be highly organized, fast paced, and prepared to work in a cohesive team
- Strong working knowledge of word processing (Word), spreadsheet (Excel) and presentation (Power Point) software are required as well as general computer literacy
