Job Duties:- Manages the design of Commercial Solar Projects from contract signature to final design, including all necessary revisions and as-builts.
- Reports to the Engineering Director daily and weekly on various design stages.
- Directs and coordinates the project engineering/design team for the execution of the design of projects.
- Manages and develops the Site Assessment process to ensure it is providing accurate and useful data.
- Manages and develops the design process to ensure quality designs are developed at a rapid pace.
- Acts as Engineer of Record where possible and supports operation team by providing technical expertise as subject matter expert on all projects.
- Develop PV system engineering and design specifications in accordance with industry standards, regulations, and stakeholder requirements.
- Train and onboard new design staff including conducting new employee orientation.
- Manages working relationships with third-party vendors; establishes expectations and timelines; monitors for issues and initiates corrective actions where necessary.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities for the Commercial & Industrial solar and storage design and installation processes.
- Assist QA/QC with the development of processes requiring technical knowledge.
- Support Operations team with subcontractor technical review and vetting.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and resolve disagreements between parties.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competency: - Proficient in design, engineering, and calculation software (eg. AutoCAD, Aurora, HelioScope, PVSyst, etc)
- Strong interpersonal and management skills
- Demonstrated ability to improve processes and create efficiencies.
- A strong analytical thought process with sound judgment and a keen attention to detail

Education and Experience Required:- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline required
- Professional Engineering License preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of commercial, industrial, or construction engineering and design experience.
- Experience with the development and design of engineering and quality processes and procedures.
- Actively engages with internal and external technical experts to develop solutions.
