Hire Resolve’s client in the Package Manufacturing industry is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Health, Safety and Environmental Engineer to join their team in KwaZulu-Natal.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the Health and Safety portfolio in the Engineering space.
  • Develop and review H&S rules/ policies/ procedures.
  • Facilitate H&S quarterly meetings.
  • Conduct H&S audits.
  • Arrange annual medicals for all employees.
  • Initiate evacuation drills.
  • Ensure H&S files/ reports are up to date.
  • Involvement in engineering projects and continuous improvement engineering.
  • Research and propose sustainability initiatives.
  • Propose and implement engineering projects that drive sustainability.
  • Monitor for any possible system deficiencies or areas of difficulty.
  • There is a lot of admin in this role, so the candidate must not mind this.
  • This would be a good role for a young engineer who aspires to be in an engineering/ operations manager, where H&S will be useful

Requirements

  • Minimum of BTech or BSc Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience (we are wanting a junior, graduate level type person- not with too much experience- ideally younger than 27 years old)
