Job Title: Director, Sustainability Policy, BioPharmaceuticals
Introduction to Role:
Are you ready to take the lead in developing and implementing global policy programs in the BioPharmaceuticals sector? As the Director of Policy, BioPharmaceuticals, you will focus on achieving environmental sustainability goals for AstraZeneca’s leading respiratory pipeline and portfolio. This role is a unique opportunity to influence across our whole enterprise and adapt to the shifting needs of a global company in high growth.
Accountabilities:
Your core responsibilities will include understanding and securing relevant policies, partner relations, coalition building, evidence generation, external engagement and internal alignment. You will report to the VP, Global Head of Policy, Advocacy and Health Equity with a dotted line to VP, BioPharmaceuticals Corporate Affairs.
Crucial Skills/Experience:
5-10 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry
Deep understanding of healthcare systems, the EU institutions, and how to drive healthcare policy change at country level
Experience of successful projects realized across diverse markets
Ability to use Global platforms, e.g., the Sustainable Healthcare Initiative (SHI) to drive positive policy change at country level
Understanding of environmental EU and Global legislation and platforms (e.g., Kigali/Montreal Agreements, F-Gas, PFAS, REACH, EU Green Deal)
Strategic problem solver with ability to comprehend sophisticated matters and chart a clear path forward
Self-starting, independent, entrepreneurial demeanour – an inquisitive adventurous person who flourishes with new challenges and on seeing things through to completion
Eagerness and ability to collaborate with and mobilize different people and organizations; work effectively in a matrix organization and ability to prioritize optimally
Ability to communicate highly optimally with senior leadership, peers, as well as with a variety of partners
