New equipment will be designed for safe operations, unsafe conditions in current operations will be corrected, and HSE programs will be well implemented meeting the relevant standards and regulations in R&D. That means you will ensure that engineering expertise is applied to optimise designs, facilities provided are well maintained, regulations/procedures are in place and implemented, risk/hazard assessments are conducted, accidents both caused by unsafe acts and conditions are reduced and energy and waste are driven down.
How you will contribute
You will:
· Lead the Health, Safety & Environment cultural transformation in the R&D site
- Own HSE standards and programs for the R&D site, including Process Safety Management, and lead their implementation
- Engage and collaborate with teams on site to develop an interdependent safety culture
- Present safety updates in multi-level meetings and townhalls
- Support R&D in achieving zero accidents and incidents
- Lead waste reduction efforts and support teams in identifying and developing opportunities to reduce environmental impact e.g. carbon footprint
- Collaborate with the global HSE community, sharing knowledge and best practices
· Own management of change for the R&D labs, pilot plant and offices on site
- Lead the teams on site to assess risks for Pilot Plant equipment and operations
- Lead process safety / engineering safety assessments for new equipment; influencing in the design stage and correcting in the implementation state
- Own the safety re-assessment process for existing equipment and lead teams to execute re-assessments
- Lead the identification and tracking of corrective actions related to equipment design and operation
· Lead incident management for the R&D site
- Maintain an up-to-date incident reporting system
- Lead investigations in conjunction with the HSE Pillar team/safety committee
- Drive the completion of corrective actions to eliminate root causes/reoccurrence
What you will bring

· An engineering degree
· Expertise in Health, Safety & Environment management
· Experience in HSE management in an R&D or factory environment
· NEBOSH General Certificate preferred
· Knowledge of safety and environmental technical standards
· Knowledge of regulatory reports and compliances including experience with ISO
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with individuals at all levels
The responsibilities of this position are performed within the framework of a regional business model that is defined and managed by Mondelēz Europe GmbH, Switzerland .
