External Description:
Provides program oversight and strategic direction for the environmental management system at one production facility (and potentially ancillary facilities). Drives technical solutions and provides leadership and direction for environmental aspects of plant operations, including engineering and maintenance projects. Oversees and drives results to meet sustainable development program goals and objectives. Oversees and supervises junior level environmental professionals at the facility. Participate in development of corporate environmental management system program and roll out implementation plans to establish an effective environmental management program at each covered facility. Work with 3rd party to meet ordinance and regulatory policy.
Position Responsibilities
- Oversees environmental activity at one production facility (and potentially support facilities))
- Ensure all facility staff receive appropriate environmental training
- Champion and support the EHS Pillar Team, Green Team, and Sustainable Development Program
- Lead Site in Sustainable Development
- Monitor and mentor EHS Pillar Team and Green Team
- Track and manage annual submittals of Sustainable Development information (data, goals, award applications, etc.)
- Environmental Program Management
- Environmental audit and regulatory inspection preparation
- Prepare and implement corrective actions from the Environmental Review
- Participate in environmental audit process at other facilities
- Manage Facility Environmental Program
- Ensure all program requirements are met in a timely manner
- Ensure monitoring and tracking is up to date.
- Review of ENV data/info to identify trends & potential areas for risk reduction
- Develop ENV risk register at each site
- Communicate potential risks to facility operations leadership and corporate environmental leadership based on evaluation of ENV data
- Owner of ENV KPIs
- Process Safety Management
- Ensure corporate and regulatory required programs are being managed, supported and fulfilled in coordination with facility engineering and safety management
- Ensure plant capital and R&M projects are supported from an environmental perspective – identify potential environmental and sustainability impacts relative to project work and sustainability work streams for future regulations
- Energy project management
- Define and propose potential energy reduction projects
- Basic scope & Cost Plan for capital plan
