Senior EHS Engineer (New Health Care Company)

The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
As a Senior EHS Engineer, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Implementing on-going industrial hygiene chemical and noise assessments and monitoring plans; implementing ergonomic programs to reduce risk of cumulative trauma and other ergonomic injuries at the plant.
- Ensuring site compliance with SPCC, RCRA, CWA, CAA, SWPPP, UST/AST systems, CERCLA, DOT, Federal and State regulations.
- Obtaining multi-media permits as needed for construction and operations. Prepare appropriate permit applications and regulatory applicability analysis relating to air, land, water, and other environmental regulations and requirements.
- Completing internal and external EHS compliance reports.
- Providing technical assistance and guidance to plant by leading or assisting in safety committee teams and meetings, including EHS regulatory interpretations.
- Providing EHS support in the design and installation of new or modified equipment, industrial automation, and management of change processes.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution.
- Five (5) years’ experience with EHS programs and procedures within a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Experience in industrial hygiene chemical and noise assessments and monitoring plans.
- Experience working in an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) role in a manufacturing environment.
- Analytical, leadership, project planning, program development and deployment skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work closely with all employees within the plant
- QEP, CSP, or CIH certification(s)
- Experience in implementation of comprehensive EHS management systems
- Experience with ergonomics assessments
Work location: Irvine, California
Travel: May include up to 10% domestic.
