As a Senior Environmental Health Safety (EHS) Engineer. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving Micron’s safety and health programs and procedures to ensure personnel and plant wide Health and Safety. You will supervise and conduct EHS audits to identify level of implementation & efficiency of EHS management system, identify & recommend measures/approaches to close gaps/improve the management system. You will also be collaborating closely with external organizations on EHS compliance issues, with proven understanding of applicable New York state requirements such as SEQR and DEC regulations.
What’s Encouraged Daily:
Ensure Micron’s environmental programs and procedures are effective, efficient, and conform to regulatory requirements and the ISO 14001 management system.
Implement and maintain accurate environmental permits, modifications, and operating procedures.
Assist in achieving site's sustainability goals by participating in committees and providing feedback to plan, implement, and supervise projects.
Be effective at presenting (both written and verbal) environmental matters to Micron Leadership and local, state, and federal agencies.
Prepare compliance reports, quantify environmental impacts, and work with regulatory agencies..
Conduct applicability determinations on environmental regulations.
Make objective decisions supported by verifiable facts.
Lead compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with applicable laws and conformance with ISO14001
Coordinate, lead, and conduct environmental walkthroughs, inspections, and audits to ensure operations align with procedures and regulatory requirements.
Perform incident and event follow-up and investigation, determine root cause(s), implement containment action, establish corrective action & preventative action, and verify efficiency.
Collect, evaluate, and communicate environmental-related metrics and performance measurements.
Identify, develop, and provide environmental training in accordance with regulations and company & department objectives.
Provide customer support and technical expertise for various environmental issues and environmental regulations.
How To Qualify:
5+ years of Environmental experience
Proven understanding of Federal and New York State specific environmental regulations, including but not limited to SEQR, EIS, DEC regulations related to waste, water, and air management.
Solid understanding of air quality laws (NSPS, NSR, NESHAP, MACT, Title V and PSD) regulations, and standards
Familiarity/solid understanding of CAA, RCRA, CERCLA, CWA (NPDES, MSGP, CGP, SPCC) ISO14001
Experience with Risk Management Plans and Process Safety Management are a plus
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or Environmental-related field
