Environmental, Health & Safety Manager

We have three manufacturing facilities and thirteen Showrooms. As a part of our growth strategy, we are seeking an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager to join our team!
Position Overview:
The Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager will provide a high-level of leadership to ensure that employee safety and regulatory compliance is achieved. This will be accomplished by managing the organization's EH&S programs, policies, and procedures to reduce the risk of injury and to ensure compliance to all current local, state, and federal regulations. This role will liaise with local, state, and federal agencies such as OSHA, EPA, DEC, etc. for any on-site audits and / or regulatory reporting. This role will also interact daily with cross site personnel to ensure adoption of EH&S programs and support all continuous improvement initiatives.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop & maintain multi-year EH&S strategy that supports business goals
- Provide employee training for safety & injury prevention, hazard communication, emergency evacuation, and new employee orientation
- Track & report company safety metrics
- Oversee all programs related to air quality, hazardous waste management and storm water management.
- Coordinate timely preparedness and filing of all regulatory permits, licenses, certifications, and reports with appropriate regulatory authorities
- Maintain records to support all regulatory reporting requirements
- Partner with onsite Occupational Health Nurse to conduct accident investigations and root cause analysis and assist with implementation of corrective actions
- Conduct safety audits and support company Lean initiatives, including daily management
- Coordinate emergency response procedures and evacuation drills
- Support new equipment installations, lock out / tag out training
- Provide guidance / oversight for handling / shipment of any hazardous materials
- Stay abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the business.
- More than 5 years of relevant EH&S industry experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Self-driven, able to effectively work independently
- Good collaboration and organizational skills and ability to prioritize
- Good computer skills (proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Solid understanding of Lean / Continuous Improvement
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, or related field
