About Rechargeable Battery Materials
We are all on the move. Umicore’s rechargeable battery materials give people autonomy and connectivity. We are a pioneer in battery materials that give added range and performance to electric vehicles. Our materials also ensure longer battery life for portable electronics. To enable our customers to produce even better performing batteries we cannot stand still. We need to find new ways to do things, discover new solutions and develop new ideas. What you will be doing
- Participation in processes of environmental permitting and regulatory compliance efforts for RBM investments and construction efforts, including Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), and adherence to relevant international and national Directives and Legislations.
- Document the EIA process.
- Monitor the project compliance with the environmental permit once approved. Identify and alert on the scope changes impacting the EIA and propose means for the scope changes to comply with the EIA.
- Support the RBM Engineering Domain to define the Environmental Vision and deliver a detailed plan to achieve the vision.
- Covering aspects such as transport; power, water, supply. Investigate potential and define strategic possibilities.
- Assist in facilitating the growth of the environmental program within UBM as the company continues to grow and build environmental excellence.
- Investigating and implementing new technologies for energy efficiency and environmental sustainability improvements (Lets go for Zero) at project stage.
- Be in contact with local administrations, consultants and different stakeholders and amend/include any documentation that is needed to allow the start of construction and predict potential risks.
- Scope, review findings, and provide direction to consultants and internal teams on environmental conditions, permitting and agreements requirements.
- Provide environmental risk management through the project lifecycle from initial due diligence through execution and start-up.
- Identify and evaluate environmental permitting risks and regulatory changes affecting relevant development projects.
- Develop, summarize and communicate environmental obligations across multiple diverse teams, including design, construction and operations teams.
- Provide environmental expertise to diverse internal teams and coordinate with other teams about relevant issues and requirements, including coordinating with Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) teams where needed.
- Develop training and educational tools regarding environmental goals, compliance and awareness.
- Other special studies can be done when opportune.
- Participate in Safety Management System, Environmental Management System, Quality Management System and Energy Management System regarding to roles and responsibilities included in additional file.
