As an Environmental Scientist, you will join Calgary, AB as part of our Assessment, Remediation, Reclamation and Monitoring (ARRM) team. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of projects with responsibilities as follows:
- Manage a broad range of reclamation and remediation projects for one or more clients
- Manage project related timelines and budgets
- Communicate and liaise with clients and project related stakeholders
- Act as a leader in the workplace using Matrix Standard Operating Safety and Technical Procedures
- Lead simple to moderately complex contaminated site field investigations
- Supervise junior staff and subcontractors
- Initial interpretation of field data to make field-related decisions
- Preparation of technical correspondence, proposals, work plans & cost estimates, and summary reports
- Work with senior technical advisors to ensure high quality products that meet our clients' unique project needs
- Function effectively as part of a collaborative team
- This role will require approximately 80% of time to be in the field
What We Are Looking For
- 5-10 years' experience managing assessment, reclamation, remediation, and and monitoring projects for Oil & Gas clients within a consulting environment
- A degree or technical diploma in environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, or engineering
- Eligibility for registration in or maintaining a good standing in a professional organization
- Exhibit a strong safety mindset
- Self-motivated and possess strong communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to provide technical guidance and mentorship to more junior professionals
- A strong knowledge for the Alberta Tier 1 and 2 remediation guidelines
- Experience writing technical reports
- A valid and clean driver’s license with no restrictions
