SENIOR ENGINEER - SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS
SOUTHFIELD, MI
This job will require you to:
- Lead and coordinate locally all EDS - ESG activity to secure market and safe development of new products/milestones gates/planning
- Technical review of key program gates and validation of design freeze
- Management of program progress follow-up deliveries including planning and budget
- Collaboration with suppliers, customers, partners to achieve targets and deliverables W/H Greening roadmap
- Achieve technological & market intelligence and competition analysis
- Promote new technologies internally and externally
- Promote creativity & launches; brain storming, design thinking etc.
- Support the Materials Strategy/is part of the strategic plan implementation
- Develop and confirm local ecosystem; proactive liaison with external network to promote Sustainable Materials technologies: Universities, techno platform, R&D center, OEM; Suppliers and Organizations
- Support LCA / Run LCA analysis
- Part of external event implementation
- Works with Product Management / Corporate to facilitate SASB disclosures
- Manage key engineering indicators: Quality and Delivery
The ideal candidate
To succeed in this position, you will ideally have:
- PhD + 5-7 years’ minimum experience or Masters + 10-12 year’s Chemical / Materials Science related
- Electrical Distribution Systems product and components experience (Wire Harness and Wire Harness components)
- Or Bachelor’s in Engineering with minimum 10 years’ experience
- Organic chemistry, specialized in Polymers
- Polymerization process
- Knowledge in reinforcement natural and mineral fibers or fillers
- Recycling technologies
- Technical analysis and characterization
- International experience and mindset, Able to work in a multicultural and foreign team environment
- Interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to facilitate meetings and workshops with other departments and suppliers
- Curiosity and passion for technical domains
- Propensity to challenge status quo and take ownership to drive change
- Ability to manage complexity, taking distance to identify the key levers in a complex environment
- Strong communication and leadership to onboard and convince a large range of stakeholders
