Job Description

Who we’re looking for
McCormick Taylor has a Mid or Senior Level Environmental Planner position immediately available to support our Pennsylvania, Maryland, and/or Virginia transportation markets. Given the nature of our work environment, base office assignment is flexible. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about communities and their transportation needs to work and grow with our talented environmental group! This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team and across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of clients and projects of varying size and scope.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage/complete environmental study and documentation tasks for compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), Section 4(f) of the U.S. Department of Transportation Act of 1966, and other related state and federal regulations
  • Perform socioeconomic and environmental justice impacts analyses
  • Act as a liaison with internal design disciplines as well as regulatory and resource agencies
  • Assist with public involvement activities and meetings
  • Review environmental documents
  • Travel occasionally to conduct field views and attend in-person meetings
Job Requirements
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in environmental science, environmental policy, planning, or a related field. M.S./M.A. degree a plus.
  • 7-15 years of professional experience with transportation NEPA documentation and other related environmental laws and requirements, including Section 4(f), Section 106, Section 6(f), and environmental justice 
  • Working knowledge of FHWA and/or FTA and PennDOT, MDOT SHA, and/or VDOT environmental policies and procedures 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High level of attention to detail and work quality
  • Ability to work independently as well as in multi-disciplinary teams
