The Technical Accounting Manager will fulfill a critical role for our rapidly growing company within our Accounting team. This is a hands-on position with tons of opportunities to further develop the depth and breadth of your accounting and operational skills. This role will oversee the technical accounting research for all new contracts including new revenue streams. This role will also help the revenue team with month end and quarterly responsibilities including reconciliation review, SOX control review and other ad hoc projects. This position will liaise cross functionally with internal groups such as Operations, Pricing, Legal, IT, Product and Corporate Tax to ensure investor reporting, compliance and tax filing requirements are met.
*This role is a Hybrid role, working 2-3 days in our Corporate office and the other days from home.*
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare accounting memos for new revenue streams to ensure appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606
Research technical accounting issues to ensure proper accounting treatment in accordance with US GAAP
Work with independent auditors to ensure proper accounting of new transactions and to to provide support for audited consolidated financial statements
Work directly with the Corporate Controller on ad hoc technical projects
Review complex journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations including but not limited to revenue, contract assets and liabilities and contra revenue
Review quarterly analytics
Prepare information needed for SEC financial reporting
Assist in developing and improving processes and procedures for our growing department
Provide leadership, mentoring and coaching to assigned staff that ensures development of a highly skilled and motivated team
Assist with Oracle implementation, by providing business requirements, process design, and user acceptance testing
Assist in establishing, implementing and improving internal control policies and procedures
Assist in departmental, resource and project planning
Assist with special projects as required
REQUIREMENTS (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND OTHER SKILLS)
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent
CPA needed
Minimum of 5 years experience with at least 2 years in a management role
Public accounting/auditing experience
Big 4 preferred Public company and Internal Controls/Sox 404 expertise
Thorough knowledge of operating and reporting structures and financial policies and procedures
Thorough, detail-oriented, highly organized, and performs effective self-reviews
Is accountable
Takes ownership
Demonstrates initiative to ask about new learning opportunities
Must be inquisitive, have the desire to learn and initiative to reach out to various departments to complete tasks
Must be results-oriented, able to manage timelines and proactively communicate on-going issues to various team members with an ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to identify problems and discrepancies, independently perform research and analysis of causes, and recommend corrective actions
Ability to prioritize and multi-task accordingly in a fast paced environment is required
Ability to communicate clearly and precisely on operational issues
Excellent written and formal presentation skills
Oracle R12 or comparable system experience desirable
Expert in Excel desirable

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:
$102,905.78 to $137,207.70
Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards.
