Role Overview
As the External Affairs Manager at Advantage Capital Renewables & Hoosier Solar, you will play a crucial role in advocating for solar initiatives, establishing community partnerships, and navigating local political landscapes to secure project approvals. This mid-level position is based in Indianapolis, IN, and requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in political advocacy, community engagement, and stakeholder relationship management. Other duties include:
1. Local Political Advocacy:
· Build relationships with key stakeholders, including local government officials and community leaders, to garner support for solar projects.
· Develop and implement effective strategies to navigate political obstacles and secure necessary approvals.
· Monitor and analyze local political landscapes and regulatory frameworks to identify challenges and opportunities for project approvals.
· Represent Hoosier Solar in public meetings, hearings, and forums to advocate for the economic benefits of solar projects.
2. Community Engagement:
· Establish and maintain relationships with community leaders, residents, and organizations to address concerns related to solar projects.
· Collaborate with the Development team to develop community outreach plans and educational initiatives.
· Organize public consultations and information sessions to ensure transparency throughout project development.
· Act as a liaison between Hoosier Solar and the community, incorporating feedback into project plans.
3. Marketing Management:
· Work with internal teams to ensure marketing collateral is updated and aligned with project goals.
· Utilize approved communication strategies to navigate complex issues and engage stakeholders effectively.
4. Stakeholder Relationship Management:
· Identify and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including elected officials and environmental organizations.
· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address stakeholder concerns and maintain communication throughout projects.
· Provide updates and address inquiries to ensure a shared understanding of project goals.
5. Grassroots Advocacy:
· Mobilize grassroots advocacy efforts to generate community support for solar projects.
· Represent Hoosier Solar at community events and coordinate advocacy campaigns.
