KEY JOB FUNCTION:
We're seeking a Mechanical Engineer with at least 3 years of experience in mechanical design and analysis to support our global team in renewable energy certification projects. You'll evaluate and approve design calculations for geared and bearing components in wind turbines according to internationally accepted design guidelines like ISO 6336, ISO 76, ISO 281, IEC 61400-1, IEC 61400-4 etc.
The role involves evaluating geared and bearing components, including the main gearbox, pitch and yaw gearboxes, and pitch, yaw, and main bearings, as well as other mechanical components within the wind turbine's nacelle assembly.
Additionally, responsibilities include inspecting customer factories to verify the correct implementation of evaluated designs or attending gearbox test campaigns. The necessary internal trainings shall be provided to fulfill this responsibility.
Strong documentation and communication skills are vital as the successful candidate will coordinate with clients and team members from various channels to ensure clear and comprehensive project specifications. On the job training and mentoring will be provided.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working closely with the Segment leader and Global team, the Engineer will be responsible for Project execution, Customer management and expanding UL Renewables Certification services in India.
Key responsibilities are:
- Evaluation of gears, shafts and bearings according to international standards like IEC 61400-1
- Review of design documentation (specifications, drawings, calculation reports etc.)
- Evaluate the results of gearbox testing regimens (necessary internal training will be provided)
- Mechanical analysis with commercialized tools like KISSsoft
- Inspection of manufacturer’s facilities to witness correct implementation of specific designs of gearbox in the manufacturing process including the gearbox test
- Communication with business partners in India and abroad
- Identify possibilities and techniques to improve & automate internal geared and bearing calculations processes
