Summary of Responsibilities
Manages the oil and gas, mineral, energy, water supply, and other associated land management and natural resource operations for the District.
Primary Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Manages and oversees the execution of oil and gas, mineral, land management, water supply and other associated natural resource operations on MWCD lands, short- and long-range planning and the maintenance and organization of all related documents.
Provides information and handles inquiries from the public, lessees and special interest groups regarding related natural resources and land management issues.
Manages the lease and other related agreements, assists with negotiations and preparation of appropriate documents. Manages the monitoring of production, royalty, and other related revenue. Manages the approval and oversight of oil and gas, mineral, energy, water supply, and other natural resource related site locations, facilities, roads, pipelines, easements, rights-of-way and related facilities. Manages water supply agreements and oversight of associated field operations and assists with negotiations. Assists with the maintenance of files and maps of active leases and project sites, and an associated emergency response plan. Inspects well and project sites and monitors leases to ensure compliance with MWCD regulations. Assists in the event of environmental problems or citizen complaints.
Advises the Chief of Natural Resources and Land Management on natural resource and land management activities. May attend Board of Directors meetings as necessary. Coordinates with other Natural Resources and Land Management staff and other departments on land management decisions and on potential real estate leases and sales/purchases. Updates and advises the Chief of Natural Resources and Land Management on industry updates, studies and trends.
Carries out major assignments and performs work that affect the organization’s business to a substantial degree; is authorized to make decisions and recommendations that commit the organization and have significant financial impact to the organization. Primary duties include the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
