Summary
The Software Specialist provides Software/IT support for the Zoo team, which works on a 76-acre campus with approximately 300,000 sq ft of building structure. This position provides IT troubleshooting, installations, and support of all Hardware/Software, Network, and Audio & Visual platforms. The Software Specialist will support several systems and networks, including Desktop, Audio & Visual, Point of Sales, Telephones, cameras, and servers.
Essential Functions:
· Installs, configures, maintains, and troubleshoots issues with a wide range of hardware and software used throughout all Zoo operations. Performs hardware and software upgrades to existing equipment as needed.
· Provide audio and visual setup and other technical needs for Zoo special events and meetings.
· Provides network support campus-wide, including installing networked application software, granting access to users, creating user groups, managing shared resources, installing peripherals, configuring security equipment, setting up batch files, and making specific files read only.
· Tracking and documenting technical issues and their solutions for desktop/point of sale workstations and software.
· Ensuring software is up to date either on Desktops or Servers.
· Establishing relations with software vendors.
Minimum Requirements: Associate degree or two years of course work towards a Bachelor's degree. 2 Years of field experience applies.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This full-time 40 hrs per week position regularly requires flexible hours and weekend work. Must have flexibility to respond to and be on-site for after-hour emergencies.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Reporting Structure: Reports to the IT Manager
Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee works inside and will be frequently exposed to outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet while in the office or moderately loud when in the field.
