Position Overview
The Transmission Portfolio Manager will provide a global line of sight and alignment of strategic construction/execution priorities - coordinating between internal and external stakeholder groups in their efforts to deliver on a multi-year and complex transmission portfolio. The manager will collaborate with cross-functional project management, sourcing, development, and operations teams, analyze market trends, and recommend strategic approaches to achieve the organization's overall project delivery goals. This position will report to the Vice President of Transmission Project Management.
Responsibilities:
Project-specific items:
- Lead portfolio view of execution risks across transmission projects in various stages of development or project management.
- Coordinate internal transmission project management team logistics to progress project deliverables across various transmission projects.
- Lead internal and external stakeholder communications efforts aligned with the portfolio of projects.
- Analyze and report on cost trends within projects and how they relate to macro market conditions. Connect analyses and reporting to contracting strategies.
Global items:
- Ownership/responsibility around spearheading initiatives around overall transmission operations, enterprise-driven initiatives for ensuring compatibility with transmission business/processes that support or enhance project delivery.
- Support and lead discussions around strategic advantages and alignment benefits between individual transmission projects with respect to resource strategies, supply chain, and other market factors.
- Coordinate vendor communications management across primary transmission services suppliers.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, engineering, finance, or other relevant fields.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in energy/utilities sector, project/management consulting, banking, regulatory field, or corporate strategy/development.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and to meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to identify and drive solutions to complex problems.
- High degree of comfort with ambiguity; ability to effectively navigate uncertainty.
- Strong written and verbal communication with ability to succinctly communicate complex problems.
- Ability to use discretion in handling confidential information
- Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred
- Experience with project management software (i.e., Oracle Primavera P6 suite of tools).
- Experience with enterprise cost management software applications such as SAP, Maximo, ProCore, etc.
- Experience with enterprise/portfolio risk tools
