JOB OVERVIEW
The Carousel Operator is responsible for the safe operation and oversight of the carousel and ensures a positive experience for park patrons riding the carousel.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / KEY JOB OUTCOMES
- Operate carousel, ensuring safety standards are met by checking for fastened seatbelts on riders and other standard operating procedures
- Greet riders and collect tickets
- Maintains an awareness at all times of guest riding the carousel
- Assists guests while they embark and disembark the carousel
- Performs and document routine maintenance and safety checks
- Report performance and safety deficiencies to Concessions Manager as they arise
- Perform cleaning and basic maintenance to ensure the carousel is in good operating condition at all times
Performs other job-related duties and functions as assigned
Requirements
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of one (1) year experience working with guests in an amusement park or experience operating heavy machinery and equipment

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Work is normally performed in the field and involves some exposure to moderate risk of accident/injury and requires following basic safety precautions
- Requires operating equipment where carelessness could result in injury; standing for extended periods of time and stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, lifting, pushing, pulling and/or crawling
- Requires manual labor requiring moderate physical exertion (consistent need to lift, push, pull, carry, etc. up to 50 lbs.). May require special safety precautions, such as working around moving parts, machines or with irritant chemicals and may require use of protective clothing or gear
- Requires communicating information with co-workers, stakeholders and/or the public; reading basic documents and/or following verbal instructions and filling in forms
- Requires regular availability on weekends and holidays
