JOB OVERVIEW

This is a full-time role located in Vareo’s Kent Office for a Discipline Engineer – Solar Systems. This role will be responsible for developing, designing and optimizing solar power systems to deliver various solutions to meet the needs of Vareo’s clients. This role calls for a high level of competence in electrical engineering, employing the latest technologiges in solar power systems.

The role will act as technical authority for solar projects responsible for providing technical support across all solar related projects. The role calls for a mature professional who can embrace the strategic business objectives of VAREO by adhereing to the highest standards in technical and electrical engineering design as it relates to solar power systems. In doing so, adopt best industry standards, tools, systems and processes to facilitate delivery certainty for Vareo clients.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Earthing System Design

• SAT and FAT compliance

• CAD Design, SCADA design and specification

• Electrical Protection specification

• Technical Authority for all Solar Systems

• Provide project stakeholders and regulatory authorities with technical information as required in support of project delivery.

• Maintain knowledge and keep up to date with latest technologies related to solar power.

• From time to time, perform other related technical duties as assigned.

• Attend project and departmental meetings..


QUALIFICATIONS, PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND COMPETENCIES

• Strong background in Solar Industry, Solar Power, and Solar Systems

• Experience in PV Design and Electrical Design

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Ability to provide technical support and troubleshooting for solar systems

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work in a team environment

• 5-7 years experience in the design of Solar Power and BESS projects.

• Sufficiently competent to interface and understand other discipline engineers.

• Excellent attention to detail

• Full UK Driving License helpful


WORKING CONDITIONS

• Office based with occasional visits to project sites for client meetings when required.

• Occasional business travel may be required for clients, projects, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders’ meetings.

• Occasional evening, weekend and public holidays work may be required to accommodate work demands and countries in different time zones.
