Now, the challenge: Humans have to build 1 TW of solar capacity every year for the next 30+ years. We need to build new technology and overhaul the way solar power is designed, developed, and built to make this happen.

About The Role
As a key part of the R+D team you will design robotics and mechanical structures and participate in the development design cycle from concept ideation through first build. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with a cross-functional engineering team with a highly talented group of engineers from varied backgrounds.
The salary range for this full-time position is $80,000 - $120,000 plus stock and benefits. Pay within the range is based on candidate experience, job-specific skills, education, and work location. The target experience for the position is 2 - 5 years
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ideate novel solutions to challenging problems - from the system level to individual part design
- Design and develop automated equipment and mechanical structure, both major changes and from scratch
- Take on challenging design projects from product development and delivery through conception, design, and assembly
- Develop system-level requirements
- Oversee hardware through test and deployment
- Develop and track to project schedules
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years professional experience in Mechanical, Structural, Mechatronics, or Robotics Engineering
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or similar
- Experience with CAD
- Experience designing mechanisms and structures
- Mechanical system design experience
- Hands-on aptitude – able to dive in and troubleshoot issues
- Idea generation and execution
- Desire to work in a startup environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in industry designing and manufacturing parts/assemblies/mechanisms in high quantities
- Experience in DFM and DFA
- Experience designing for harsh environments
- Experience in a multidisciplinary team
- Experience working with electronic hardware – sensors, actuators, etc.
