Senior Product Engineer – Hydrogen Storage
The Senior Product Engineer’s main responsibilities of the Sr. Pressure Vessel Engineer are to support our product development and manufacturing teams through crafting of tank technical requirements, providing tank-related technical training & mentoring to our team, and developing new capabilities & offerings that support our teams growth.

McLaren Engineering, the engineered products division of Linamar Corporation, is a company focused on the design, development & testing of advanced automotive driveline & powertrain systems.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead the design, development and validation of product adhering to engineering disciplines with minimal supervision.
- Perform standard engineering analysis (stacks, calculations, interfacing with Core Eng. Groups).
- Initiates and coordinates project team activities relative to design and performance of the composite pressure vessels
- Communicates and consults with the product development and/or manufacturing teams about the vessel development
- Facilitates a culture of lessons learned: shares know-how on composite vessel development
- Provide mentoring to supporting Product Engineers.
- Coordinate material selection with material specialist.
- Manage DVP&R execution by coordinating with cross functional team.
- Drive engineering adherence of Linamar launch process (CFLP) for program execution.
- Recognize and lead technical problem resolution using problem solving techniques such as 8-D, IS/IS-NOT, fishbone, Red X and 6-Panels.
- Lead internal design reviews to meet program milestones
- Own the requirements creation and documentation for the tank system and all relevant components.
- Lead DFM/DFA activities with Linamar manufacturing plants and suppliers to assure manufacturing feasibility of designs.
- Support quote process for design changes.
- Participate/Lead Value Analysis/Value Engineering activities.

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.
- Master of Science in Engineering is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years engineering experience, composites experience preferred
- Proficient with GD&T, dimensional tolerancing and tolerance stacks.
- Strong decision making skills with the ability to grasp technical concepts.
- Experience in composite design and composite manufacturing processes
- Ability to prioritize and work multiple tasks to completion.
- Ability to collaborate and work in a team environment.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills to ensure clear and effective group communication with fellow engineers, customers, sales and manufacturing.
- Proficient with application of DFMEA, DVPR and Control Plans.
- MS Office proficient.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to conduct engineering calculations, use/support predictive software tools and accurate definition of load/boundary conditions for CAE.
- Experience writing technical specifications, validation test procedures and test reports.
