Project teams in our Energy & Industrial Group (EIG) support industry-leading projects in power generation, plant design, environmental compliance, mid/downstream oil & gas, and multi-disciplined industrial projects. We’re leading efforts to decarbonize the industry by utilizing advanced technologies in renewable energy, carbon capture, and hydrogen power. Our EIG teams perform detailed engineering services for photovoltaic (PV) solar projects and the integration of solar and energy storage. We’re the industry leader in carbon capture technologies with experience executing pilot-scale to commercial-scale projects for utilities, industrial plants, and direct air capture. We provide engineering services for green hydrogen production via electrolysis using solar, wind, hydro, and nuclear power sources and we support on-site usage in power generation, fuel cells, and fueling stations.
The Solar Lead Engineer/Project Manager will lead the technical evaluation and design of commercial and utility-scale renewable energy solar PV projects.
- This position will offer you the opportunity to support the project director by leading a project team of engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing solar PV facility electrical systems.
- Develop conceptual layouts using best practices and preliminary equipment sizing calculations.
- Prepare solar PV design proposals.
- Lead preparation of electrical system design documents such as specifications, one lines, string layouts, cable calculations, etc.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines and provide project management support to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
- Be responsible for remaining up to date with the latest industry trends and technology offerings from the major PV system equipment OEMs and suppliers, specifically modules, inverters, and racking systems.
- Engage with Clients to be sure that proposed scopes of work and project estimates align with Client expectations.
- Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner, contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors.
- Contribute to internal process improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance as a mentor in the development of other team members.
This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.
