Well established and respected law firm is seeking an associate with at least 2-6 years of relevant experience to work in the firmâs San Francisco office to primarily support the Retail Trade and Environmental Practice Groups. The firm is particularly interested in candidates with experience defending Proposition 65 lawsuits, California Legal Remedies Act claims, Unfair Competition and False Advertising claims, property contamination lawsuits, and citizen suits under the federal Clean Water Act, as well as experience researching and advising clients on environmental laws and consumer product compliance laws and regulations.
Candidates must be admitted to practice in California and should be self-starters with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The firm will consider candidates with solid academic credentials, excellent writing skills, strong analytical abilities with a consistent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

The annual salary range for this role is $178,000 to $220,000 per year, plus benefits (among other things, the firm pays the entirety of an associateâs health and dental insurance premiums and 30 percent of the premiums for dependents). An associateâs pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, experience, skills, qualifications, and business needs.
Associates are expected to work a minimum of 1800 billable hours per year and 200 non-billable hours to remain in good standing. Approved pro-bono work up to 100 hours and approved diversity, equity and inclusion work up to 25 hours will count toward 1800 billable hours target.

In addition to hours-based bonuses, associates are also eligible for merit-based bonuses each year based on a variety of factors, such as achieving outstanding results for a client, contributions to the firm and business development efforts.
