Our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join the Port Elizabeth team,
· Design grid-tied, hybrid, and off-grid solar PV systems (residential, commercial, and/or utility-scale).
· Prepare electrical schematics, single-line diagrams (SLDs), layouts, and technical documentation.
· Conduct system sizing, energy yield calculations, and performance modelling.
· Select appropriate equipment (PV modules, inverters, batteries, cables, protection devices).
· Support applications for municipal approvals and embedded generation registrations.
· Ensure compliance with OHS Act and site safety regulations.
· Provide technical support during procurement, installation, and commissioning.
· Conduct site inspections, commissioning tests, and system sign-offs.
· Liaise with EPC contractors, installers, municipalities, and utilities (e.g. Eskom where applicable).
· Identify risks, troubleshoot system issues, and propose corrective actions
· Perform system commissioning and acceptance testing.
· Assist with fault diagnostics, performance analysis, and system optimisation.
· Support preventive and corrective maintenance planning.
